Non-Immigrant Visas

Thailand's immigration system uses category-coded Non-Immigrant visas. The right visa depends on your purpose of stay. We advise on eligibility, prepare the documentation, and accompany clients to the relevant office where needed.

Non-B

Business Visa

Required before applying for a work permit. Issued on the basis of a job offer or company sponsorship from a registered Thai entity. Single-entry Non-B visas are obtained at a Thai consulate abroad; once in-country, the visa is extended annually through the Immigration Bureau.

Key documents: Letter of employment or invitation from Thai company, company registration, financials, passport-size photos. We prepare the full consulate pack and accompany where required.

Non-O

Family & Marriage Visa

For spouses and dependants of Thai nationals or foreigners with long-term status. Annually renewable in-country. The marriage route requires proof of a legally registered marriage in Thailand.

Financial Requirements

  • Marriage visa: THB 400,000 seasoned in a Thai bank account for at least 2 months, or provable monthly income of THB 40,000+
  • Combination method: Income and savings may be combined to reach the THB 400,000 equivalent

Updated forms: Immigration has revised its TM form requirements in recent years. We keep current with these changes and ensure your pack is correct first time.

Non-OA

Retirement Visa (Long Stay)

Available to applicants aged 50 and above. Issued as a one-year multiple-entry visa, renewable annually from within Thailand. No work rights are attached — a separate Non-B and work permit is required for any employment.

Financial Requirements

  • Bank deposit: THB 800,000 seasoned in a Thai bank account for at least 3 months prior to application and 3 months after extension
  • Income method: Provable monthly income of THB 65,000+
  • Combination: Income and savings totalling the THB 800,000 equivalent

Health insurance: Non-OA holders are required to maintain minimum health insurance coverage (currently THB 40,000 outpatient / THB 400,000 inpatient). We can advise on compliant policy options.

Non-O (Retirement): Some retirees use the Non-O route obtained abroad, then extended in-country on retirement grounds, which carries the same THB 800,000 financial requirement but different health insurance rules. We advise on which route suits your situation.

Work Permits

A valid Non-B visa is a prerequisite for any work permit. The process and requirements vary depending on the employing entity. We handle the full application, renewals, and any position amendments.

🏭

Thai Limited Company

The standard route for foreigners employed by a Thai-registered company. Requires the employer to meet the paid-up capital and staffing ratios before the Department of Employment will issue the permit.

Requirements per foreign employee

  • THB 2,000,000 paid-up capital
  • 4 Thai employees on payroll
  • Valid Non-B visa
  • Relevant qualifications / CV

BOI-Promoted Companies

BOI promotion unlocks a streamlined immigration and work permit track. Promoted companies are not subject to the standard 4:1 Thai-to-foreign employee ratio and benefit from the expedited One Stop Service Centre.

BOI advantages

  • No 4:1 employee ratio restriction
  • Online application via One Stop Service
  • Faster processing timelines
  • Long-stay visas up to 1 year issued in-country
🌐

Employer of Record (EOR)

For international businesses wanting staff in Thailand without a Thai entity. Employment runs through a licensed local EOR partner. We advise both employers and individuals on the legal and compliance dimensions of EOR arrangements.

When EOR works well

  • Pilot headcount before entity setup
  • Remote workers needing legal status
  • Short-to-medium term project deployments
  • Cost-effective alternative to incorporation

Renewals & Ongoing Compliance

Both visas and work permits must be renewed annually. Penalties for overstay or working without a valid permit are significant. We track renewal deadlines for our clients and prepare documentation in advance so nothing lapses.

Ancillary Immigration Services

Beyond visas and work permits, day-to-day immigration compliance involves a number of recurring obligations and bureaucratic tasks. We handle these on behalf of clients so they stay fully compliant without the queues.

📅

90-Day Reporting

All foreigners on long-stay visas must report their place of residence to Immigration every 90 days. Failure to report on time results in a fine. We file on your behalf — online where available, in person where required.

🚗

Immigration Certificates for Driving Licences

To obtain or renew a Thai driving licence, foreigners typically need a certificate of residence or address confirmation letter from Immigration. We obtain these documents from the relevant office on your behalf.

🏠

TM30 Registration

Landlords and hotels are required to notify Immigration within 24 hours of a foreigner staying at a property. Where landlords do not file, tenants can be left exposed. We advise on obligations and file TM30 notifications where needed.

📄

Re-Entry Permits

Leaving Thailand on a single-entry extension without a re-entry permit cancels your visa. We obtain single or multiple re-entry permits before travel to protect your immigration status.

📝

Bank Letters & Certification

Many immigration and government applications require certified copies, notarised documents, or official letters confirming financial standing. We coordinate these requirements and liaise with banks and embassies as needed.

👥

Dependant Visas

Spouses and children accompanying a primary visa holder need their own immigration status. We handle Non-O dependant applications alongside the primary application to keep the whole family covered.
